Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enhanced Website with Counterfeit and Unregistered Product Data for Public Awareness and Improved Reporting Mechanism

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is pleased to announce the recent enhancement of our official website to include comprehensive data on counterfeit and unregistered products seized by the Technical Working Group (TWG) Oplan Katharos from January to August 2024. Oplan Katharos is tasked with developing and implementing guidelines for the proper handling, storage, and disposal of seized health products. This update aims to promote transparency, provide stakeholders with vital information, and further strengthen our shared commitment to ensuring public health and safety.

This new feature provides consumers with easy access to detailed information and statistics on confiscated counterfeit and unregistered products. By providing these data, we empower the public and stakeholders through greater transparency and reinforce the agency’s efforts to protect public health and safety.

We have also streamlined our reporting mechanism to make it more convenient for the public to report suspicious products. A simple click on the report button will now redirect users to the email address [email protected], where they can share details and relevant information about counterfeit or unregistered products. This enhancement reflects our ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to ensure a faster, more efficient response to public concerns.

The FDA encourages all stakeholders, from consumers to healthcare professionals and industry members, to actively utilize this platform to stay informed and help us maintain a safe and compliant market.
