We all know cosmetics are way too expensive and we are trying to limit the amount we use everyday to keep them longer. But do you ever think about the shelf life or how long should a particular cosmetic be used after opening the seal?

Using cosmetics after the expiration date, will cause some irritation on your skin that may lead to secondary infection. Some products will lose their potency over time in carrying out their functions and won't be much effective. (Example: Sunblocks and creams)

Just a friendly reminder:
1. Stop hoarding cosmetic products. Unless the expiration date are way tooo far. Check your consumption of products, if one or two bottles of liquid foundation can last you a year, there is no reason for you to buy more than 2 in a year.

2. Do not open products that you won't be using right away. Remember once you open a product it's life is ticking away.

3. Always check the expiration date specially if the products are on sale. We are all familiar with the buy 1 take 1 sale, do not be overjoyed by the fact of like "saving", if the product would not last 1-2 years you will be ending in using 1 and throwing a free 1.

4. Always close the lid of your cosmetic products, you do not want it to be contaminated.

5. Wash your hands before using your products or use an applicator. Regularly wash your make up brush tools also.
