Sinabi ni Senador Grace Poe na dapat ay may nakalatag ng plano o “catch-up plan” ang LTO kung papaano mababawasan ang backlog.

“It's frustrating that motorists still have to bear the shortage of plates even after paying for them. Parusa na ang pila sa pagpaparehistro o renewal, uuwi ka pang walang plaka. The LTO must put in place a catch-up plan to address the millions of vehicle plates backlog,” ani Poe.

Dapat aniyang maparisahan ang mga private providers na hindi nakakapag-deliver.

“It must crack the whip, if necessary, on private providers who fail to deliver. The absence of vehicle plate poses security risks. It is also shortchanging motorists who have shelled out money for the plates,” dagdag ni Poe.

Nauna rito, iniulat ng Commission on Audit, sa kanilang 2022 annual report, na mahigit 1.7 milyong plaka na nagkakahalaga ng P808.7 milyon, at nabayaran na ng mga motorista noong 2015, ang hindi pa naihahatid ng ahensya. | via Malou Escudero
