For graduation pictorial clients, I always make sure that the eyes pop beautifully by using more browns and accentuating everything with light contours and blush.

Karen and I go way back in high school, and you can imagine how ecstatic I was when she said she wants me as her makeup artist for her wedding. I haven't had a wedding client for quite some time, and doing her makeup made me tear up.

Nak (she calls me mama lords since HS), you are really a ball of sunshine! I enjoyed my day with you and I am praying that your marriage with King will last for as long as you both will live.

I’m amazed at how my makeup technique changed over the years.

Before, I always believed that the more layers I put, the better: full coverage liquid foundation and another layer of full-coverage powder foundation. By the end of the day, there will always be a patch on the face that would look cakey.

I changed and studied more. When I could not get make-up clients because of Covid turned out to be the perfect time to enhance my craft and better understand how to work on different skin types. One makeup process does not work on everyone, like how we were taught by the makeup artists who came before us.

Skincare is vital in starting each makeup session, and I learned it the hard way. Since this is my new process, I also bought skin-loving prepping products for you, dearest clients. I hope you understand that my professional fee will also increase because of this new makeup process. After all, everything is for you to look beautiful for an entire day (make it two if you choose not to wash your face, but please wash your face at night, lol)

So there you go, that’s my little speech. Now that everything is improving each day, I hope my makeup gigs will become full-blown again soon.
