OWWA National Reintegration Center for OFWs Director IV Dindi Tan with OWWA- BARMM OIC Regional Director Uga Sulaiman led the turn-over ceremony of PHP 1.405 million worth of Livelihood Assistance to the OFW Organizations in the Bangsamoro Region under the OWWA-NRCO Tulong PUSO Program last February 11, 2022 in Cotabato City.

Dir. Tan shared during her talk that of all places she had been to and stories she had listened on the ground, this visit to the Bangsamoro must be the most uplifting of them all.

She started her talk relaying President Duterte's gratitude for all the love and support that Muslim Mindanao has accorded him all through the years since he became the 1st Mindanaoan President of the country. The reception of our Bangsamoro brothers and sisters was like no other.

On the said date, Dir. Tan together with Regional Director Sulaiman awarded livelihood seed capital to former extremists and other groups in the armed struggle on this part of the country. Former members, wives and OFW children of MNLF, M**F, BIFF etc have all laid down their arms to go back to the fold.

We are happy and proud that because of government interventions such as our OWWA-NRCO "Tulong Puso" Program, we are slowly helping bring that elusive peace on this part of Mindanao and to better the lives of our Bangsamoro OFWs and their families.

Dir. Tan have committed to help request more funding opportunities for these groups to help sustain what they had started.

ONLINE APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL RELIEF ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (FRAP) OFFICIALLY OPENED

Koronadal City - The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office (OWWA RWO) XII started receiving and evaluating online applications under the Financial Relief Assistance Program (FRAP) of OFWs from the SOCSKSARGEN region last January 17, 2022.

It is a one-time cash assistance that has been offered to the 30,000 displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) all over the country whose companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) were affected by the decline of its economy.

The Financial Relief Assistance Program (FRAP) aims to provide the amount of TEN THOUSAND PESOS (PHP10,000) to the repatriated OFWs from the KSA during the period of January 2016 to December 2019 to ease their difficulties and to fuel economic activities and livelihood building.

OFWs who are active or inactive OWWA members are eligible to apply provided that they were displaced from the employment due to economic turndown in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; was repatriated from KSA to the Philippines during January 2016 to December 2019; is currently in the country and not deployed overseas for re-employment since their return or has pending money claims before the Saudi Labor Court or other competent authorities.

OFWs who were able to avail of the DOLE AKAP, TABANG or EASE Programs indicating that they were able to be deployed for overseas employment after repatriation in the country during the period until 2019 and those with amicable settlements are no longer allowed to avail of the said program.

Regional Director Marilou M. Sumalinog said that the program is very helpful to OFWs and their families especially that we are confronted by this global pandemic. She also encouraged the eligible OFWs to apply for the said program.

- 90 beneficiaries of the OFW Reintegration Program (Livelihood) of the Public Employment Service Office (CSF - PESO) received Financial Literacy Training last March 01, 2022 at the Ninoy Aquino Ampi Theater, Heroes Hall.

The Fin-Lit Training was conducted by OWWA RWO 3 Family Welfare Officers Romeo T. David and Monchier Ivan Q. David. The training's goal is to reintegrate distressed OFWs on how to manage the livelihood assistance provided by the Municipal PESO.

The participants were also given updates on the programs and services of the agency.
