November 17, 2025: Graduation of Alagang Ina and Malusog Na Bata was held today.

This initiative is a proof that in Municipality of Quezon there’s a good governance, passion and collective efforts. The programs has been successful, provided them health and nutrition education, food packs and hygiene kits to 64 beneficiaries of Alagang Ina and 80 beneficiaries of Malusog Na Bata.

Every journey there’s an ending. But, in LGU Quezon, it’s more on continuous dedication, hard work and a heart of giving quality services to every Quezonian.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our Hon. Mayor Dean Joson, Hon. Vice Mayor Josie Joson, Hon. Municipal Councilor on Health Patrick Del Rosario, SB Members, MNC Members, RHU Staffs headed by Dra. Kathrina Angela Esquivel,Barangay Captains, BHWs/BNSs, and to people of Quezon for collective support in every implementation of Nutrition Programs.

ā€œWe will not end up working with, we will not get tired, and we will not let anyone left behind in fighting for the healthier Community of Quezon.ā€

November 13, 2025: Alagang Ina 2025 and Malusog Na Bata continue its purposes of providing health and nutrition education that empowers beneficiaries to make informed choices about their well-being.

RMT Victor Dave Joson discussed laboratories or the maternal package for pregnant mothers. This package includes Urinalysis, CBC, Blood Typing, VDRL Tests,
Hepa B Screening and HIV Testing. This is to ensure a healthy mother and a healthy baby by providing a comprehensive, coordinated system of care that reduces maternal and infant morbidity and mortality.

Sanitation Inspector II Malene Ventura imparted knowledge on the importance of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). WASH are interconnected practices essential for human health, dignity, and well-being, encompassing access to safe drinking water, proper sanitation facilities, and hygiene habits like handwashing.

She also discussed dengue— a mosquito-borne viral disease with symptoms ranging from mild to severe, including high fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, and rash. The "4S" of dengue, promoted by the Department of Health (DOH), are strategies to combat dengue fever: Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites; Self-protect against mosquito bites; Seek early consultation for symptoms; and Support fogging only in identified hotspot areas during outbreaks.

November 7,2025:
Regional Nutrition Council of Central Luzon recognized and awarded LGU Quezon as ā€œProvincial Green Banner Seal of Complianceā€ and ā€œRegional Crown Contenderā€ for the year 2024. This award is just a proof that in Municipality of Quezon, the leaders govern with dedication, compassion, care and love for their people.

Thank you to our beloved former Honorable Mayor Mariano Cristino Joson, former Vice Mayor and now our Honorable Mayor Mariano Noriel Joson, Sangguniang Bayan Members, Municipal Nutrition Committees, and RHU staffs led by Dra. Kathrina Angela Esquivel for their unwavering support and participation in every Nutrition and Health Programs for the whole Municipality of Quezon.

A big shoutout of gratitude to our community heroes—our BNSs and BHWs, for their dedication, hard work, and love for every Quezonian.

Also, thank you to our Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Marites Soriano, together with Nurse Jemerick Pulanco and Marra Ocay, for making all Nutrition Programs be possible and properly implemented.

And most of all, gratitude to our Almighty God, for giving strength and wisdom to the people behind every programs

MNAO Marites Soriano discussed Malnutrition on Children. This is a serious issue that can impact a child’s growth, development, and overall health if left untreated. Early detection and intervention are crucial. But with this kind of Health Education on proper nutrition, healthcare, and support—it can or it will make a huge difference.

Nurse Jemerick Pulanco reiterated on the importance of the topics being discussed from week 1 up to this day. It’s all about promoting healthy behaviors, preventing diseases and improving overall well-being of pregnant women, lactating mothers, undernourished children and children in poverty.

October 27, 2025: Alagang Ina 2025 and Malusog Na Bata continue its purposes of providing health and nutrition education that empowers beneficiaries to make informed choices about their well-being.

Midwife Raquel Dela Cruz discussed the importance of Prenatal Care and Family Planning. Prenatal care is all about keeping mom and baby healthy during pregnancy.Regular check-ups with a healthcare provider can help identify potential issues early on, ensure baby is growing properly and provide expecting parents with valuable information and support. And family planning is a crucial aspect of reproductive health. It enables individuals and couples to decide when to have children, birth spacing, achieve desired family size and improve maternal and child health by using any of the family methods.

Midwife Rubie Sagurit discussed the importance of Post Partum Care. Postpartum care involves medical support for the mother and baby after childbirth, focusing on physical recovery, emotional well-being, and the transition to parenthood.

October 19, 2025: Alagang Ina 2025 and Malusog Na Bata continue its purposes of providing health and nutrition education that empowers beneficiaries to make informed choices about their well-being.

Midwife Monica Agustin discussed the importance of Expanded Program on Immunization(EPI), a government-run program that focuses on providing essential vaccines to children. The main objective of EPI is to provide universal access to vaccines to reduce morbidity ang mortality from vaccine-preventable diseases in children and other populations.

Nurse Grace Manuel discussed the importance and benefits of breastfeeding to both mother and child.
EO 51 or the The Philippine Milk Code of 1986 promotes and highly recommends exclusive breastfeeding, and reduce the inappropriate marketing of breastmilk substitutes. Breastmilk is an ideal food for infants.

October 13, 2025:
Due to the success of Malusog Na Bata 2024 with a themed of ā€œTamang Nutrisyon, Solusyon Sa Malnutrisyonā€, LGU Quezon has decided to continue the program for year 2025. This initiative aims to improve and maintain the nutritional status 6-59months old undernourished children and children in poverty.

Part of this program is the discussion of Healthy Tips by MHO Kathrina Angela Esquivel, 10 Rights of Children by MSWDO Avelina Dela Cruz, Pinggang Pinoy by DOH Nurse Monica Jean Alyn Soriano, and Nutrition Tips/Micronutrients Supplementation by PHN Maria Irish Magno.

To highlight this program, MNAO Marites Soriano, Municipal Councilor on Health Patrick Del Rosario and Municipal Councilor Sally Hermoso, welcomed Malusog Na Bata 2025 beneficiaries, and believed that health starts at home.

Alagang Ina 2025 and Malusog Na Bata 2025 are great initiatives and efforts of Municipality of Quezon in addressing malnutrition. And because of programs like this, we are slowly achieving our dream of a healthy community.
