Our Christmas Parol, crafted from scallop shells and recycled plastic bags, showcases the seamless integration of creativity, resourcefulness, and sustainability. The organic beauty of the scallop shells symbolizes purity and radiance, while the vibrant, eco-conscious plastic bags bring a modern twist and joyous spirit to the design. Together, these elements culminate in a remarkable lantern that not only brightens the holiday season but also promotes a message of environmental consciousness, resourcefulness, and the rich tradition of Filipino craftsmanship.
Materials used:
1. Bamboo base frame's abundance, durability, flexibility, eco-friendliness, and aesthetic charm all combine to make it an ideal material for this beloved Filipino tradition.
2. Scallops Shells adds a spiritual, natural elegance, and skilled artistry. The utilization of scallop shells symbolizes the profound bond Filipinos have with their beliefs, their surroundings, and their rich cultural background.
3. Plastic bags by twisting them into floral shapes such as flowers, petals can elevate their appearance, turning them into stunning and detailed decorative accents. This practice not only promotes sustainability by repurposing waste, but also symbolizes creativity, resourcefulness, and hope, while also honoring the longstanding Filipino tradition.
