MEDICAL & DENTAL OUTREACH PROGRAM
📍 Brgy. Culasian, Tiray, ZSP

The Provincial Local Government Unit under the advocacy "Serbisyong totoo" of Governor Ann K. Hofer conducts healthcare services for Sibugaynons. Aside from the ongoing upgrading of facilities in the province such as the Dr. George T. Hofer Medical Center (DGTHMC) formerly known as ZSPH, implementation of the "Medical /Dental Outreach Program" in the barangays is also ongoing.

In this regard, the Office Provincial Health Officer, in collaboration with Dr. Marly Hofer, LGU-Titay, Municipal Health Office, Barangay Officials, Healthcare Professionals, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Philippine Dental Association rendered the ff services;
✅ Free Ultrasound, ECG, XRAY, BLOOD TEST
✅ Free Medical consultation
✅ Free Dental consultation
✅ Free tooth extraction.
✅ Free medicines
✅ Free fluoride varnish
✅ Free Dental kits
✅ Operation Tuli

As many as 208 patients benefited from the said program.

Mass Operation Tuli event conducted at Rt-Lim Zamboanga Sibugay spearheaded by the Municipal Local Goverment Unit and Rural Health Unit of Rt-Lim in collaboration with the Provincial Health Office of Zamboanga Sibugay and Rural Health Unit of Ipil.

As many as 207 patients came to avail the said service and free medicines.

Delivery of assorted drugs, medicines and DOH Supplies were also delivered personally by the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ulysses J. Chiong.

The Provincial Health Office of Zamboanga Sibugay conducted the Maternal Death Review 2024 at Sibugay International Hotel on July 11, 2024. The event was spearheaded by the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ulysses J. Chiong, Provincial Safe Motherhood Program Coordinator Mrs. Shirley F. Alde and gathered key healthcare professionals and coordinators committed to improving maternal health services in the region.

In attendance were Dr. Ruvelinda Grace Uy OB-Gyne Consultant from Zamboanga City Medical Center, Ms. April Joy C. Gresones from Zamboanga Peninsula-Center for Health and Development, Municipal Health Officers, Rural Health Unit staffs and Chief of Hospitals and representatives from Public and Private Hospitals.

The Maternal Death Review is a crucial strategy designed to investigate and understand the root causes of recorded maternal deaths. By identifying these causes, the review aims to enhance health services provided by skilled healthcare professionals during critical periods before, during, and after childbirth. The ultimate goal is to significantly reduce maternal and newborn mortality rates.

The event provided a platform for sharing insights, experiences, and strategies among healthcare professionals, all aimed at fostering a comprehensive approach to maternal health care. Through these reviews, the PHO of Zamboanga Sibugay together with the Rural Health Units and Hospitals continue to strive towards excellence in health services, ensuring that the lives of women and newborns are protected and prioritized.

Delivery of assorted drugs, medicines and DOH supplies intended for the 16 Municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay conducted by OPHO led by Dr. Ulysses Chiong and staff. Memorandum of Agreement on Province-wide Healthcare System in preparation of the upcoming UHC convergence was also discussed with the Local Chief executives and Municiapal Health Officers.
