Maya Angelou was an amazing woman. She was born on April 4, 1928, in America and started her career as a dancer and then started to sing. She was also a great poet and writer. Her first book
“I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” was a major success. Angelou was a civil rights activist and movie director.

Miriam Makeba was born March 4, 1932 and died on November 10, 2008. She was an African singer who became known as Mama Afrika, one of the world’s most prominent black African performers in the 20th century. African music was brought to Western audience by her, Miriam popularized the world music and Afropop genres and advocate against apartheid and white-minority government in South Africa.

Makeba was also a songwriter, actress, civil-rights activist and UN goodwill ambassador.
