Concretion series (sunset) is part of a series of new reliefs by Felipe Cohen that approaches light as a fluid body. Light moves, changes, and disappears in an instant. Concretion fixes it in place, pauses that clock.

On view through this Saturday 👀

Felipe Cohen’s longstanding interest in geometrizing and abstracting the landscape is evident in his new series of reliefs titled Concretion. Through a modular vocabulary of lines and shapes, he evokes the sea, the sun, the sky, a mountain.

On view for one more week ⌛️

Forsaking colour in favour of white for his new reliefs, Felipe Cohen focuses on form—and on the way these three-dimensional works are perceived against the white gallery wall.

Come by to take a closer look!

Transparent versus opaque, fragile versus resistant – Felipe Cohen carefully orchestrates the interaction between two different types of material (tracing paper and marble) to suggest a cloud materializing under our eyes.

On view in the solo exhibition Felipe Cohen: Concretion through July 25.

Evoking the passing of time, the hourglass is a recurring motif in Felipe Cohen’s work. Come by the gallery to discover several works that feature it, in the solo exhibition Concretion.

The first work that you’ll see as you enter the gallery: Hourglass, a group of five wall sculptures that formalize the passing of time through the materiality and appearance of plywood.

Felipe Cohen uses the lateral sides of stacked plywood sheets to form layers that evoke sand flowing through an hourglass. Moreover, the frontal and lateral views of the five pieces complement one another.

On view through July 25 in the solo exhibition Felipe Cohen: Concretion.
