Building a skincare brand means making hundreds of decisions.

Sometimes you have to make compromises for a business to grow and function.

For me, these 10 things aren’t up for negotiation. They’re the principles that guide every ingredient I choose, every formula I create, and every product that carries the Imogen name.

Which one resonates with you most? đŸ˜ŠđŸŒ±

I thought it would be fun to google review our year so far
😁

It’s definitely been a bit of a rollercoaster. Building a small business is one of the most rewarding things i’ve ever done, but if i’m honest, it challenges you in ways you never knew could exist. Mentally it can really play with your mind.

I am incredibly grateful for you all, our customers and the opportunity to live my dream everyday. We wouldn’t be here without you.

How would your rate your 2026 so far?

No... I don’t recommend rubbing seabuckthorn berries on your face. 😅

But I do think it’s one of Scandinavia’s best-kept skincare secrets.

For generations, seabuckthorn has been treasured across the Nordic region for its skin-supporting properties. Today, research has shown it’s naturally rich in antioxidants, carotenoids and essential fatty acids that help protect the skin from oxidative stress, one of the biggest contributors to premature skin aging and support the skin’s natural repair processes.

Luckily, I’ve already done the hard work for you😉.
You’ll find sea buckthorn oil in our Scandi Glow Face Oil—so you get all the benefits without rubbing berries on your face.

At Imogen, we never set out to create the cheapest moisturiser.

We set out to create one that is completely different to others on the market and that we’d be proud to use ourselves.

That means choosing fresh Swedish birch sap instead of distilled water, sourcing high-quality botanicals from our own farm and other Scandinavian growers, and working with ingredients because we believe in them—not because they’re the cheapest option.

Those choices cost more.

But behind every ingredient is a farmer, a harvest, a season and a story.

That’s what you’re choosing when you choose Forest Blossom.

Not just a moisturiser.

A different philosophy. 🌿

It’s been awhile since I shared how Imogen came to be

So here’s the slightly unhinged story ❀.

Today I received an email from a raw material supplier with the subject line:

“Stop being cheap with distilled water.”

It made me laugh.

But it also perfectly sums up our philosophy at Imogen.

Instead of using distilled water like other skincare brands do, which makes the formulations easier to create and cheaper. We decided to use fresh birch sap collected from the trees on our farm in Sweden.

If an ingredient is going to make up a high % of a formulation we want it to have skin benefits too.

Unlike distilled water, birch sap is naturally rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Which helps support skin cell renewal, improve skin tone and boost microcirculation in the skin.

We are big fans of utilizing every inch of a formulation to give the maximum benefits to the skin.
