Once all the grafts have been removed from the donation area, you will turn around and receive local anesthesia in the transplant area.

Subsequently, small channels in the transplant area are created in a slightly irregular pattern to make the hair mimic your natural hair as much as possible. This is the most difficult part of a hair transplant that requires a lot of knowledge, accuracy and good technology. This step is decisive for how the result will be.

In some cases, when the patient doesn´t want to shave their donation area in the neck, we can use a technique we call "long hair, no shave".

The hair in the neck must be between 20-25 mm long in order to do a hair transplant in this way. It goes like this:

We take the drill and move it towards the longer hairline so the hair folds and is cut off. We simply select the hair strands to be donated and moved to the new area instead of shaving off the entire donationarea. The patient then maintains the length of the hair on the rest of the area.

It´s possible to transplant a maximum of 1500 - 1800 grafts if you choose to do your hair transplant in this way. This is because it takes so much longer to drill and remove the hair follicles when not shaving. It takes a total of 4 hours to only drill and remove the hair follicles with this technique, compared to 1 hour if we should have shaved the entire area.

During a PRP treatment, when the blood sample is taken, the tubes are placed in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells against the blood plasma and the white blood cells, where the growth factors are 👏

The centrifuge spins the tubes at high speed for 10 minutes. After the centrifuge, the blood is divided into four different layers:

1. At the top we have water

2. Below the water comes the growth factors, these are the ones we inject during the PRP treatment

3. Below the growth factors, the fluid consists of white blood cells

4. At the bottom of the tube there are red blood cells
