Vädjar om stöd.

Varje dag passerar tiotusentals bussar, bilar, cyklar och gångtrafikanter Stureplan. Trafik- och promenadflödet i hela Stockholm riskerar att påverkas negativt om rivningsplanerna för Sturekvarteret blir verklighet. Under lång tid kommer den puls och densitet som idag är synonymt med Stureplan gå förlorad och därigenom kommer Stureplan som destination försvinna. I detaljplaneförslaget saknas det en ordentlig redogörelse för hur trafik- och promenadflödet i Sturekvarteret och Stockholm kommer påverkas och hanteras under rivnings- och ombyggnationstiden.

Förslaget saknar proportion mellan orsak och verkan. Skillnaden mot nuvarande möjliga kvaliteter och verksamheter jämfört med framtida är minimal, särskilt om man jämför med alla de olägenheter som projektet orsakar under sin mycket utdragna byggtid. Stora värden står på spel när flera kulturhistoriska viktiga byggnader föreslås rivas. Rivningarna är för omfattande.

Dance for Women Dance for Women

As a woman and founder of this organization I often wonder about women, and our role in today’s society. I feel that today’s women are expected to deliver. We’re supposed to have it all, know it all and be it all. Therefore stress is not a word too uncommon for us.

It’s a pretty familiar word actually… for all types of women. Have you ever been so stressed out that you started cleaning? And even worse… That you actually found it to be relaxing? Even though studies suggest that cleaning releases stress for women I always felt it had a negative ring to it. “A tidy home brings a tidy mind”. We’re not women of ancient times – we are the women of today! Thankfully studies evolve and show that there are other ways to find relaxation. Namely through dance.

As a youngster: when I saw the joy in my mother’s eyes from dancing – I knew that it would one day too become my salvation. What I didn’t know was how dance was going to change my life, and foremost my mindset. Dance for Women, DFW, was created with the aim of eliminating the element of stress through dance with a fundamental objective to help women find inner peace and happiness – particularly by knowing how to relax, in a happy way, when things sometimes get to be a bit too much.

DFW aims to create positive moments with every woman by increasing the awareness of her mental wellness and believes this is possible through dance. For DFW dance means everything. Dance is a building block to create a moment of happiness for every woman that will lead her to inner peace and connect her with her own warmth and loving heart. Every woman, with her own imprint on movement, holds the ability to create a dance.
