“CHEATING”

Husband: “I’m done. I want a divorce.”

Wife: “Please… don’t make this decision while we’re both drowning in pain. We’ve been together for 17 years. Doesn’t our marriage deserve one last chance?”

Husband: “One last chance? You already made your choice when you cheated. You didn’t think about our 17 years then.”

Wife: “I know. I know I destroyed your trust, and I will regret that for the rest of my life. But one mistake shouldn’t erase everything we’ve built together.”

Husband: “One mistake? It wasn’t a mistake—it was a decision. Every message, every lie, every time you looked me in the eyes and acted like nothing was wrong… those were decisions.”

Wife: “You’re right. I have no excuse. I take full responsibility. But I’m begging you… let’s go to marriage counseling before we end this. Let someone help us fight for what’s left.”

Husband: “Fight? I’m the only one who was fighting for this marriage while you were breaking it.”

Wife: Tears falling. “I hate myself for what I’ve done. If I could take it all back, I would. I can’t change the past, but I can spend every day proving I’m willing to rebuild what I destroyed.”

Husband: “Do you know what hurts the most? I loved you. I trusted you with everything. Now every memory feels like a lie.”

Wife: “Not every memory was a lie. We built a life together. We laughed, cried, struggled, and loved each other for 17 years. Please… don’t let our story end without trying to save it.”

Husband: “And what if counseling doesn’t fix this?”

Wife: “Then I’ll accept your decision. I won’t fight the divorce if we’ve truly tried everything. But I can’t live with knowing we gave up without even trying to heal.”

Husband: After a long silence. “I don’t know if I can forgive you.”

Wife: “I’m not asking for forgiveness today. I’m only asking for one opportunity to earn it. If, after counseling, your heart still tells you to leave, I’ll let you go. But please… don’t let 17 years end because we were too broken to ask for help.
