17世纪时，由荷兰科学家列文虎克发现，并以“Euglena”为其命名，寓意为“美丽的眼睛（eu = 美丽；glena = 眼睛）”。

What is “Euglena”? 🌿✨
Euglena, also known as “Euglena gracilis,” is one of the ancient microorganisms believed to have appeared on primitive Earth more than 500 million years ago.
In the 17th century, it was discovered by the Dutch scientist Antonie van Leeuwenhoek and named “Euglena,” meaning “beautiful eye” (“eu” = beautiful, “glena” = eye).
Euglena is a very unique microalgae because it possesses characteristics of both plants and animals.
