Happy Birthday Our Queen of Freetown..

We are not born perfect: every day we develop in our personality and in our calling till we reach the highest point of our completed being, to the full round of our accomplishments, of our excellences. This is known by the purity of our taste, the clearness of our thought, the maturity of our judgment, and the firmness of our will. Some never arrive at being complete; somewhat is always awanting: others ripen late. The complete man, wise in speech, prudent in act, is admitted to the familiar intimacy of discreet persons, and is even sought for by them. God, we thank you for your unreserved blessings and protection thus far. This is one of the biggest pageants I have participated in after the Mr. & Miss FBC 2021, in which I almost clinch the golden crown last night. 1st Runner up is as important as the winner hence it comes to pageantry.
Congratulations to the newly crowned queen 👸 of Freetown and I am with an open mind, heart, and hands to work with you hence it's for the development and goodwill of Freetown and Sierra Leone at large!
And to all my adorable fans and management thank you so much for the support and confidence you bestowed on me throughout this pageant. I love you so much.

By this, you gain a position in many places and win esteem in advance. It shows itself in everything, in talk, in look, and even in gait. It's a great victory to conquer people's hearts. It does not arise from any foolish presumption or pompous talk but in a becoming tone of authority born of superior talent combined with true merit.

MASTER YOUR ANTIPATHIES

We often allow ourselves to form dislikes of people, even before we know anything about them.
At times this innate yet vulgar aversion attaches itself to eminent people. Good sense masters this feeling, for there is nothing more discreditable than to dislike those better than ourselves. As sympathy with great people ennobles us, so dislike of them degrades us.

ATTEMPT EASY TASKS AS IF THEY WERE DIFFICULT AND DIFFICULT AS IF THEY WERE EASY

In one case so that confidence may not fall asleep, in the other so that it may not be dismayed. For a thing to remain undone nothing more is needed than to think it is done. On the other hand, the patient industry overcomes possibilities.
Great undertakings are not to be brooded over, lest their difficulty when seem to cause despair.

CHELSEA 4 MISS FREETOWN 2022

Chelsea Lahai as the household name goes has been one of the faces of beauty queens across Sierra Leone. During her childhood days, she won the Miss Beauty Queen and other academic awards at St. Raphael Primary School Waterloo. Nonetheless, she also took the 3rd runner-up for the Mr. & Miss FBC 2021.
As a beauty queen, philanthropist, and human rights activist, she is also a final year law student at the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
That is just the tip of the iceberg. However, below are some of the qualities that make Chelsea the most deserving person for the Miss Freetown 2022 Beauty Crown.

BUILDING SELF-CONFIDENCE
The number one of a million reasons why Chelsea enter the race for the Miss Freetown 2022 beauty pageant is to build self-confidence. Take me, for example, after the rigorous process of application and audition for the Mr. and Miss FBC 2022 would never catch myself talking in front of large crowds at Bintumani International Auditorium or being social at all... until entered my first big pageant amongst 10 ladies! Talk about life-changing! I walked away being 3rd runner-up and I was in awe of how much self-confidence I had gained thus far!

LESSONS I LEARNT
There are so many things you learn not only about yourself, but also about communication skills, leadership, interviews, and poise! Pageantry is a doorway for those who want to be on stage, give back, and of course, learn more about themselves! I never saw pageantry as a competition, I always looked at it as a learning experience.

CREATING FRIENDSHIPS/FAMILY
The ladies you compete with become your family, regardless of all the stereotyping about catty girl fights and fake, plastic personalities. You'll be pleased to learn that it isn't true. You'll always have one of those ladies, but I'm happy to say that all the ladies I've competed with are STILL my friends, and we consider ourselves a sisterhood! Support system, backbone, encouragement, and much more!

OPPORTUNITIES
Pageantry gives you a window of opportunities, this world ties in with the entertainment world! So, it opens doors to modeling, acting, performing, and much more! Even if you want to speak out about things you are passionate about from philanthropy points of view as well! I have been blessed; since doing pageantry I have been in music videos, on TV, modeled, hosted, did radio, sang in concerts, and much more! And, I was able to do all of these thanks to being in a pageant!

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Now, the best sides of pageantry are the organizations you get to work with or begin with! I'm all about giving back, paying it forward, and doing the right thing! Pageantry allows you to network with numerous organizations and work with them, help them spread awareness, and much more! Now, you don't need a sash or crown to be involved with your community in sensitizing the youth on drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, girl child protection, etc.

THE CROWN
Now, of course, the crown and sash are materialistically the highlights of the competition. The title itself! But, something I have learned from a successor once told me is that "you define the crown, the crown does not define you." Meaning, you make the crown, so do something good, and amazing, and make a difference. Your reign is only a year, and in a year you can do whatever your heart pleases! Many of my sister Queens and I started our organizations, and some are even on television now!

NEW ME
I would be lying if I said pageantry didn't do anything for me! Because pageantry changed who I am, my vision, and everything I once was. It taught me so much about myself, and I learned so much about other key things in life from poise, grace, proper communication, building self-confidence, networking, and much more!

I would never take back any of the competitions I've ever competed in. I'm grateful for every experience I've encountered. Although I may have not won every pageant I participate in but I always walked away with much more than a crown and title. These alone are my reasons to enter a pageant.

In this regard, I need your unreserved support more than ever to carry the Miss Freetown Beauty Crown with so much pride, responsibility, and maturity.
