An IUD is a small T-shaped plastic and copper device that's put into your womb (uterus) by a doctor or nurse.An IUD works as soon as it's put in and lasts for 5 to 10 years, depending on the typeThere's a small risk that your body may push out the IUD or it may move. Your doctor or nurse will teach you how to check it's in placeThe IUD is similar to the intrauterine system (IUS), but instead of releasing the hormone progestogen like the IUS, the IUD releases copper into the womb.

The copper alters the cervical mucus, which makes it more difficult for s***m to reach an egg and survive. It can also stop a fertilised egg from being able to implant itself.

The two hormones work together to prevent pregnancy mainly by stopping the ovaries from releasing an egg each month. The Pill also makes the mucus in the cervix thicker so that s***m can't get into the uterus. When you take the non-hormone pills you will get a withdrawal bleed like a period.

3.Male condom (external condom)

Make sure that your p***s does not touch your partner's ge***al area before you have put on a condom – semen can come out of the p***s before full ej*******on.

PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV when taken as prescribed. PrEP reduces the risk of getting HIV from s*x by about 99%. PrEP reduces the risk of getting HIV from injection drug use by at least 74%.

The DPV-VR is a female-initiated option to reduce the risk of HIV infection. To properly use the ring, it must be worn inside the va**na for a period of 28 days, after which it should be replaced by a new ring.
