Dr. Jean-Pierre Frat, chief investigator of the landmark FLORALI study, talks to us about his experience as a researcher and clinician, reflecting on a decade of experience with Nasal High Flow therapy (NHF).
We discuss the practical application of NHF for multiple applications in acute hypoxemic respiratory failure.
We ask Dr. Frat about settings when initiating NHF, monitoring patients (including use of the ROX index), the decision to escalate, weaning patients, the role of NHF in supporting intubation and extubation and of course what’s next on his agenda.
