Our chemists have dissected the product they are selling for $150 - and unsurprisingly, it contains just $2 worth of Sorbolene cream.

Sorbolene is an all-purpose cream commonly sold as a moisturiser but often used as an alternative to soap or make-up remover. Manufactured by many different companies, Sorbolene the most common and inexpensive varieties of moisturiser on the market.

Sorbolene products are created using the by-products of petrochemicals. Petrochemical by-products are as dangerous as they sound. Many petrochemicals are contaminated with known carcinogens including Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons.

Other common ingredients in Sorbolene products are emulsifiers and synthetic preservatives. Emulsifiers like ceteth-20 can cause irritation to the lungs, eyes, and skin, toxicity to the organ system, and even neurotoxicity.

It is the primary reason for the well-publicised class actions against Kimberly-Clark, Procter & Gamble, and Johnson & Johnson in the United States.

Similarly, synthetic preservatives, which may appear on ingredient lists with names ending in “paraben”, for example, propylparaben and methylparaben, have been linked with hormone disruption and even cancer

As Sorbolene contains EDTA ingredients mentioned above, Sorbolene can cause changes to the natural make-up of the skin cells, shutting down the skin’s natural ability to act as a barrier against chemicals and environmental factors.

The oils and petrochemical by-products used in Sorbolene products will eventually make their way into your body, and since they cannot be properly digested or processed by your skin, these harmful ingredients will stay in your body and accumulate.

We are preparing a trademark infringement and dilution case against these people as they are clearly trying to build their business off our success. We are told by our Australian distributor that they already have active ATO (Australian Tax Office), ASIC (Australian Securities and Investment Commission) & NSW Police Fraud Squad investigations into their activities - and they have previously been fined and prosecuted by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) for deceptive claims & practices.

Our Australian distributor has also advised them to cease and desist their copyright infringement, but they have ignored these requests - and they continue to operate a copycat website selling the trademark infringed goods.

They are based in Mullumbimby NSW Australia and they operate out of unsanitary backyard facilities that are unsanctioned or approved by SafeWork NSW. They also do not conform to the standards for manufacture of cosmetic products that are defined under the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 and the Trade Practices (Consumer Product Information Standards) (Cosmetics) Regulations 1991 which covers any substance or preparation that comes in contact with any external part of the human body.

The ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) will investigate cosmetic brands if someone reports the brand, or if the brand previously breached the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 or if an ACCC audit reveals an issue.

We have reported this operation to the ACCC, and we look forward to their future action on this matter.
