Daenerys gets to Astapor, where he buys an army of warriors called the Unsullied. They are fearless warriors. Daenerys doubts she doesn't want to go to war with the slaves. Therefore, she decides to give them a choice and tells the slaves that they are free. The slaves are delighted with Daenerys and, after being freed, agree to follow her. Later, a similar situation develops with the mercenary warriors from Yunkai, the Younger Sons.

But later, an assassination attempt is made on Daenerys on the orders of Robert Baratheon, Drogo is going to take revenge, cross the sea with his khalasar and win back the Iron Throne. His plans are not destined to come true, as he is injured, and as a result of the treatment he finds himself in a motionless unconscious state, Daenerys kills him out of mercy. Her child is born dead. At Drogo's funeral, Daenerys places the petrified dragon eggs she was given as a wedding present into the fire and enters the fire herself. To the surprise of everyone, she does not die, and dragons hatch from the eggs. Daenerys' people admire her and recognize her as their queen.

Viserys Targaryen is determined to reclaim the Iron Throne. To do this, he marries his sister to the Dothraki Khal Drogo, and in return wants to receive an army from him, with which he plans to cross to Westeros and start a war there. But because of his impatience, Viserys begins to lose control of himself, threaten his sister, who by that time was already pregnant, as a result of which Drogo kills him. Daenerys herself wants to return the Iron Throne so that her son can take it. Drogo is categorically opposed, because he does not understand why she needs this "Iron Chair".

After the fall of the Valyrian Empire, the Targaryens invaded Westeros with a small army and three dragons. In a fairly short period they conquered the six kingdoms that existed at that time on the continent, and founded a dynasty of Andal kings and the first people. Two centuries later, the kingdom of Dorne joined them, which eventually led to the formation of a state known as the Seven Kingdoms.
Two hundred and eighty years later, the erratic rule of Aerys II Targaryen began, turning most of the regions against him, resulting in a civil war that became known as Robert's Rebellion. The Targaryens lost it and almost all were destroyed. Only the two youngest children of Aerys, Viserys and Daenerys, managed to escape, who took refuge in the Free Cities. Also survived was Aerys's uncle, Aemon Targaryen, who by that time had long served in the Night's Watch.

The Targaryens were one of the noble houses of the Valyrian Freehold, the mighty empire of Essos, and held the title of dragonlord. According to legend, the daughter of Einar Targaryen, Daenys, dreamed of the death of Valyria, and she convinced her father to leave her homeland. The Targaryens moved from Essos to an island in the Narrow Sea and built the castle of Dragonstone on it. After 12 years, Dainis' prophecy came true: the Freehold was completely destroyed as a result of a powerful volcanic eruption. After this catastrophe, the Targaryens were the sole owners of the dragons.

Robb had to look for new allies, and he decided to restore peace with Walder Frey. He agreed, demanding that Edmure marry one of his daughters. The Army of the North has gathered in Gemini to celebrate the wedding. The events that took place there were called the Red Wedding. Frey and Rousse Bolton betrayed Robb, resulting in the death of Robb, his wife Talisa, mother Catelyn, the lords of the North and practically their entire army.

The Northerners' army reached Harrenhal, where it was ready to fight Gregor Clegane, but Clegane left the castle, before killing hundreds of Northerner prisoners of war. Robb's uncle Edmure Tully later made the mistake of letting Cleegan go and allowing him to retreat to Casterly Cliff. And Ricard Karstark disobeyed Robb and killed two captured children, nephews of Tywin Lannister. For this, Robb cut off Ricard's head, and after these events, the Karstark people left him

House Baratheon of King's Landing became the strongest faction in the war as the Lannisters and Tyrells joined them. Some of Robb's people, notably his standard bearer Rickard Karstark, began to lose faith in him. The fact is that even during the events of the first season, a marriage contract was concluded with the Freys, according to which Robb was to marry one of Walder Frey's daughters, but Robb broke his promise and married Talis for love. Also, because of Robb's mother, an important prisoner of war, Jaime Lannister, was released.

Eddard Stark was arrested for false treason and then executed. His son Robb Stark summoned banners to free his father. After his death, the lords of the North began to think for whom to fight in the war, and realized that they did not want to fight for anyone but the King of the North, as in ancient times. Robb was declared King of the North, and the North joined the war to avenge Ned and win his independence.

For a long time, the Starks ruled their area as the kings of the North. But after the invasion of Westeros by Aegon I Targaryen, King Torrhen Stark surrendered after seeing the dragons that Targaryen had brought with him to battle on the Flamefield. So the Starks received the title of High Lords of the North and began to serve the king on the Iron Throne as guardians of the North.
Three hundred years later, Lord Eddard Stark became related to the Tully house, marrying Catelyn Tully. During Robert Baratheon's rebellion, Eddard and his men fought on Robert's side and helped him ascend the throne.

After surviving the fall of the Eastern Watch, Tormund (Christopher Heavey) and Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) lead their squad to the castle of the Last Hearth, which has already been devastated by the dead. They encounter Edd Tollett (Ben Crompton), who was evacuating the Night's Watch from Castle Black. They find dead the young lord Ned Umber, who had evacuated the inhabitants of the Last Hearth, nailed to the wall and surrounded in a spiral (the sign of the White Walkers) with severed limbs. Tormund says they must get to Winterfell before the Night King. At this moment, Ned comes to life as a ghoul, and Berik burns him down, sticking his flaming sword into him.

After sailing off Dragonstone with his crew, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) sneaks aboard Euron's flagship at night, kills his uncle's group of men and frees his sister Yara. Yara decides to return the Iron Isles while Euron is busy in King's Landing so that Daenerys has somewhere to retreat if she is defeated. Theon decides to go to Winterfell to fight against the undead along with Daenerys and the Starks.
