A three year microloc journey

The loc growth and development seems slow in the first months to a year. But be still and trust the strands are doing their thing, from the inside out.

After being patient through the stages, one day, seemingly overnight, you start seeing the changes, the locs pattern has formed ,visible length changes, the volume you have not seen before, your locs "drop".

Slide 1. 3rd loc anniversary inspiration.

Slide 2. 2 months after installation . Baby phase. Hair is soft, frizzy and no defined pattern. maximum shrinkage. Your strands inside are pulling together to start the locing process.

Slide 3. Around 7 months in. There is a slight increase in volume but the twist pattern is visible frizzy and uneven.Keep hair stretched to avoid bunching and shrinkage. No visible changes to length.

Slide 4. 10 months in.Budding phase. Some slight length change. Locs aren't as soft and less cases of unravelling. Frizz is more controlled. Shrinkage is still present although for some people with shorter hair and tighter curls their hair might have started locing

Slide 5. 2 years down. Maturity phase. Locs pattern is even without frizz. Loc volume up to 4x since installation. Loc is smooth and even. Loc ends cannot unravel . Locs aren't soft but are now firm. Length changes are also very pronounced compared to before
