Q&A about my most booked treatment ✨
🌿1- Does Dermaplaning make your hair grow back thicker?
Answer: Nope! Absolutely 100% no! The hair that is removed during Dermaplaning is called Vellus (peach fuzz) hair and it is very different from Terminal Hair (thick, pigmented hair found on scalp, underarms, etc)! It will absolutely not come back thicker but many people DO find it comes back thinner! Woohoo!
🌿2- How far out from my event/photoshoot/wedding should I allow for downtime?
Answer: The truth is there is no downtime with Dermaplaning-one of the reasons why it’s so popular! This is a great option to schedule 2-5 days before your event to exfoliate the skin and remove unwanted hair! It will also help your makeup sit better for photos and that fresh glow!
🌿3- Is it painful?
Answer: Not at all! It is actually one of the least painful ways to remove facial hair and dead skin! While it does use a blade for exfoliation, it is only moving along the skin’s surface! Many people find the rhythm of the treatment soothing and even fall asleep during!
🌿4- Will it cause breakouts?
Answer: Nope! While you can’t Dermaplane on skin with active acne (there is another treatment series recommended to control acne first), Dermaplaning actually prevents breakouts! By removing the top layer of dry and dead skin cells, it will prevent clogged pores and pimples from forming! Dermaplane helps prevent these cells from getting trapped inside your pores!
