The main function of lashes is to protect our eyes from airborne debris and irritants such as dirt, dust, lint, etc. Additionally, your lashes will accumulate oil that is natural excreted from your tear ducts. Without washing your lashes the oil can debris can cause the fans to close up and look “spiky”. After washing you can notice how the extensions return to its light and fluffy look. ⠀

Hey lash dolls! You may know how to prepare for your lash appointment but do you know WHY it is essential? There are reasons why we require our clients to follow specific protocols prior to their lash appointment. ⠀
⠀
To understand how these 4 guidelines can optimize your lash experience, read below⤵️⠀
⠀
🛁Showering before your appointment will minimize or eliminate any unnecessary contact with water/steam allowing the bonding agent between the extensions and your natural lash to property dry and set. The lash glue slowly draws moisture from the air over a 24-hour period in order to cure (set). If the glue is exposed to a lot of water too soon, it’ll dry the glue immediately (what we call shock cure) and cause the lashes to shed off due to the inability to form a bond.⠀

👁Considering your eyes will be closed for 2.5-3 hours, removing your contacts will prevent any discomfort. Typically, contacts are safe to wear with extensions but should not be worn during or directly after application. Fumes from the lash adhesive can seep into the eye causing dry eye or a chemical reaction with one’s contact solution which could result in irritation, watery eyes, and/or discomfort. ⠀

💄Arriving with a fresh, clean face will ensure optimal lash retention. The oils in makeup and face products can create a barrier between your natural lashes and the extension causing dramatic lash shedding. With a clean face, the products used to prep your eyes (gel pads, tape, etc.) will remain in place preventing lash “stickies” and your extensions will properly adhere to your natural lashes. ⠀

☕️Avoiding caffeine will allow you to remain relaxed and eliminates bathroom breaks. Most importantly, it reduces jittery/twitching eyes which can cause a hindrance to the application process. ⠀
