The Flower Petal placement is our go to for creative seamless yet complex color effects in an expedited time line. For this look, I rooted with a dark purple shade and melted into 3 alternating shades of blue, pink and violet. We also use our knowledge of the color wheel to shift precious color pallets to something new so we can avoid lightening the hair that had been previously colored at each service.

🌸PRETTY IN PINK🌸 it will always be pretty when we blend a natural color pallet into a vibrant super natural color. These looks that arguably still qualify as being in an alternative category are now being sub categorized as “Soft Alt” and I thinks that best describes a lot of the clients who we see at The LAB.
We’re always super excited to help a client imagine what even a pop of color could look like and mess as far as what’s required to achieve the look and also what’s required to maintain. A look like this will fade into a beautiful warm blonde tone where the ends were once pink. This allows the client to opt to keep just the blonde or come in for a refresh of color on what had been faded. Best is it doesn’t even have to be pink again next time. And when she’s full ready to not have fun colors again, she can cut off what was once vivid pink. So many options with this placement. Would you try a dip dye for your hair?

Now trending at The LAB… Rich dimensional brunette tones are already being requested and showcased regularly with our clients but I truly believe this is the direction more clients are going towards and we’re here for it. Brunette hair doesn’t have to be flat and boring. A look like this is achieved by doing highlights and then a full color melt over top to help create a rich but natural end result. ✨ Winter Hair Dryness 101 ✨
If your hair feels more brittle, frizzy, or tangled this time of year… you’re not imagining it.
Cold outdoor air + dry indoor heat = moisture being pulled right out of your strands.

Here are my favorite ways to keep your hair soft, shiny, and hydrated all winter long:

💧 Hydrating shampoo + conditioner

😴 Satin bonnets + gentle detangling tools

🍼BABYLIGHTS🍼often times clients are confused about the differences in our options for highlighting. A baby light is a smaller stitch of highlight but more packed in than a traditional highlight technique. Typically also giving a 80% blonde. This should also result in a softer demarcation (outgrowth line) while achieving maximum blonde (or lightened hair in general). For (photographed) I also added a “tip out”. Meaning some of the hair left out of the foils, I applied lightener on the tips and blurred upward to create a soft but lighter ends, especially towards her face. Does this help a little with understanding what type of highlight might be best for you?
