Hello! I haven’t posted any nail pics in awhile! I’ve been on a journey to get my natural nails healthy again. I had experimented with a new plexiglass gel for a few months. Suffered with sore red bloody cuticles and sore hands. Finally realized after much research and denial that I was having an allergic reaction to the product. Which also had caused a reaction throughout most of my body even my face.
Itching and rash’s were a common everyday occurrence. Not fun!
I’ve been in the nail industry for 27 years. If anyone was in denial it was definitely me! Lol!

You might ask why as a nail salon owner am I posting this? Well if I can prevent anyone from going through what I have been through, I will!
By process of elimination and research I believe I figured out one of my issues…Acrylates!

Acrylates- comes in many forms. To put it simply it is liquid plastic. Most artificial nail products, gel polish, cosmetics, suntan lotions, body lotions, facial creams,hairspray even some products that are vegan ( I could go on and on just research it) contain some form of it.
But there are also many products that do not contain acrylates. I have become a label reader and it is quite shocking how many beauty products have some form of it in its ingredients.

As a manicurist of 27 years I have been exposed to Acrylates in many forms, which has made my body more susceptible to an allergic reaction.

Artificial nail products aren’t for everyone. Some people will absolutely not have any reaction to the product, but some will. Our bodies react differently to everything.

Anyone who knows me… lol, knows I love all my make-up, lipstick, hairsprays and most definitely always having my nails polished!
I guess I’m just trying to help anyone who is dealing with uncontrollable itching and rashes.
Especially to all my fellow friends in the beauty industry who might be having the same issue’s! I also would recommend any newcomers to this beauty industry to wear gloves.
Nitrile gloves have become my new best friend!
I have been using all acrylate-free products on myself and you can see by my nail pics you can still have a beautiful natural manicure!
