This is our favorite part of the salon! In this spot, we process color, bond with friends and clients, and start our weekly sage ritual to reset the salon’s energy.

Last year I lured a street cat from the parking lot into my mom’s condo with a can of tuna fish & now she’s a permanent resident (swipe for proof).

You’re probably wondering now what this has to do with hair, so let me explain..

I thought it was about time to take a break from our usual posts to give you a little intro (or reintro!) to the face behind the salon. So let me give you a little background on me & Hiraya!

I’ve been a stylist for over a decade and all I focus on behind the chair is color, texture & extensions! 😍 Now you’re probably asking if that means I don’t cut hair, and YOU ARE RIGHT! 🤯 I spend all my time as a stylist tailoring your color service to fit your specific wants and needs & providing in-salon treatments to make sure you leave with the hair of your dreams (you want a smooth, frizz-free finish? Look no further)!

Outside of being a stylist, I spend my time making sure we run things a little differently than what you’re used to in our salon space.. think: “good hair, clear conscience.”

At Hiraya, that means beautiful, healthy hair that feels authentically “you,” crafted in a relaxed, more holistic-style environment (we sage to clear the energy like clockwork every Tuesday 😅), work-life balance and schedule flexibility for stylists, fair compensation, and products you can feel good about using (ever heard of B-corps?!).

So if you’re in the market for a new salon or color specialist, oooooor you’re just looking to talk about cats (ask me about my own one-eyed parking lot princess!) during your appointment, we’re your space!

We know we all come to the salon for one main reason:
we need our hair done.

But the ways in which we enjoy our hair
appointment time can be super different. We’d love to
know what your perfect appointment looks like and
how we can serve you at your next appointment!

👉 Social. I love to sit and chat with my stylist and
other guests. I like using this time to hang out and
love the social interactions.

👉 Silent. I prefer a quieter appointment. I prefer to
talk less and maybe scroll on my phone, read a book,
or just close my eyes and relax.

👉 I’ll take your lead. I’m ok sitting and chatting but I
also enjoy the quiet as well. I like to follow my
stylist’s lead and either way I’ll have a good time.
