Today was our official Day 1 of Insanity: Max 30. Again. It's been a few months since we did the whole program and we've kept some of the workouts in the rotation. But, we've committed to doing the whole program again...all 8 weeks, and really going for it. John is even having us track our Max Out times. His was 11:25 but he does it full out. I maxed out at 22:31 using modifiers but definitely pushing myself. Let's see what happens over the next 2 months.

Friday Fight is in the books. Whew. John did it early this morning, but that's right at the time Jack woke up, so I hung out with him. That means it was my turn later in the morning. Either way it's done. Although I totally miss my partner. That workout is tough.

Y'all, we made it to Friday. Let's not go ruin all our hard work this weekend.

I've had this spinach salad for lunch almost everyday for the past two weeks. It's simple, light and tastes like fall. I just love it. Diced apples, NSA craisins, almonds and a light vinaigrette tossed over spinach. Easy peasy. The piece that makes it so good is the type of apple: Honey Crisp. Sweet, tart and crunchy. So. Dang. Good.

Today I was packing our lunches for a picnic at the park and I discovered it was my last Honey Crisp apple that we picked at the beginning of the season. And that's the thing about Honey Crisps, they are ready early in the season and then they are gone.

So while we are going to pick more apples this weekend, I won't be able to get any more Honey Crisps. Sad day. Good thing I like Galas too. What's your favorite apple??

Sorry it's been quiet around here, we have had such a wonky week. But, Karis and I got in some Upper Fix Extreme this morning before preschool. And Jack provided the perfect for us. 😂 Happy Thursday friends!!

Our Saturday morning family Pilates session. We don't make our kids workout with us, but they do love to join in. And we love to have them.

It's Friday y'all! Get up. Get moving. And get after it. This morning I read something that I have to remind myself of about 638 times a day and thought maybe you needed to hear it too.

"Don't give up what you want long term for what feels good short term. Avoid the terrible trade." -Lysa TerKeurst

This could apply to almost any part of your life. But, we all know short term gain is usually fleeting. If you really have a deep-seated long-term goal or desire, hold fast to that. Don't throw it away for a temporary quick fix or fleeting feel good.

It's here. One of my very favorite months has arrived. October. On my walk this morning we got a rare (at least this week) glimpse of blue skies and just a hint of leaves starting to change. This is the most beautiful time of year in the mountains. And it's only just begun. October is also the month we celebrate our anniversary...so it holds personal significance too. There is just so much to look forward to this month. But, also work to do as I've got big goals. So I'm making the most of my next 31 days. What are you going to do with your next 31 days?!?

Happy Wednesday y'all! Time to bust that hump. Thought for the day...

This kid is a champ at hitting every sleep regression. Boo. So he was up within a couple minutes of us starting our workout this morning. Fortunately, he's at the age where he's content to hang out and watch us or play on the iPad until we are done, so long as he gets a few minutes of cuddles first. {And, of course, plenty afterwards. He could care less if we are sweaty.} We got it done anyway. No excuses.

We started out our Monday with a bang...a little Cardio Fix Extreme. I followed it up with a round of Upper Fix to get some strength training in today too. (This was hours ago, I'm only just getting around to posting).

I'm really working hard to reach my goals. When I shifted my mind set and made my "why" more tangible with attainable, yet lofty, goals for a period of 90 days, something inside me changed. And I'm pressing hard to get there.

The babes are in the other room watching a movie and cuddling with Daddy, which is much-needed after a busy work week for him. So, I came into my office/sewing room for a workout. I'm more dialed in this week than I have been in a while and I want to keep the momentum going. I've got some lofty goals for the next 90 days and I absolutely intend on reaching them. Perhaps even crushing them?!? Either way, now is not the time to get derailed. Consistency is key. And so I press on.
