Skin Cancer Patients Have Hope
Recently our medical director, Nia Terezakis, MD sent me an article from Aesthetic Dermatology, Titled “Should all skin cancer patients be taking nicotinamide?” Published December 15, 2020 by Lily Talakoub, MD and Naissan O. Wesley, MD https://www.mdedge.com/dermatology/article/233543/nonmelanoma-skin-cancer/should-all-skin-cancer-patients-be-taking
To summarize, the doctors cite some very credible third party clinical studies which support the claim of using 500mg of nicotinamide twice daily for high risk, non-melanoma skin cancer patients to help clear and prevent skin cancers. This dosage amount can also be beneficial to actinic keratosis which is a form of precancerous lesions.
Nicotinamide, also known as vitamin B3 should not be confused with niacinamide, niacin or nicotinic acid.
Nicotinamide should not be used in patients with end-stage kidney disease or chronic liver disease.
If you want to read more technical information, here is a great source on the mechanism of action of Nicotinamide from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/integrative-medicine/herbs/nicotinamide

Before you begin any kind of treatment, it is highly recommended that you consult your physician. These claims have not been reviewed or tested by the FDA.

Nicotinamide Nicotinamide, also known as niacinamide, is a water-soluble amide form of niacin or vitamin B3. It is found in foods such as fish, poultry, eggs, and cereal grains. It is also marketed as a dietary supplement, and as a non-flushing form of niacin.

Here is a short article about starting a retinol regimen. https://www.glam.com/1079552/what-you-need-to-know-before-using-retinol/ For the most part it might apply to most retinol products. However, for getting started with Green Cream we suggest a more minimal approach. Starting slow is key to adaptation, but we do not recommend using a moisturizer when you apply a retinol. You are diluting the active ingredient which can make things harder to manage the side effects.
Green Cream is much gentler due to its delivery system and most side effects can be avoided if you start off slow. Our three tier system (Levels 3,6,9) allows you to gradually increase potency over time while adapting to a retinol. Miracles are not made overnight!
What You Need To Know Before Using Retinol - Glam Retinol is a buzzy skincare ingredient, but if you're going to use it, there are things you need to know first. Luckily, we've got you covered.

The skin's “sense of touch” is what gives our brains a wealth of information about the natural environment, including temperature, humidity, and air pressure.
Most importantly, this sense of touch lets us feel physical pain, which is a necessity for avoiding injury, disease, and danger. It is truly amazing how much information we receive about the world through our sense of touch. 👋
