Are you creating invisible ties that bind you and reinforce the very self-doubt you’re trying so hard to overcome?

Judgment is the killer. At a quantum-neuroscience level, as multidimensional beings, all judgment is ultimately self-judgment. At the energetic level, everything is connected. What you do, feel, or judge in another, you also feel and experience as if it were happening to you—at a cellular level.

Judgment is also very karmic and binds you, at a mental level, to another person, or situation. Think of the thousands of people and incidences you may have judged throughout your life. Every time you judge another person, you create a mental and energetic connection with them. If you spend years around someone while continually judging them, think of all the karmic ties you may have created.

Discernment is knowing when something is not right or does not resonate with you. It is not the same as judgment, which condemns what you may simply need to move away from. Moving away from what is not a vibrational match for you is a form of self-care and self-respect.

Conformity

So you hid your light, fearing you might threaten others. Gossip became a way to express hidden, suppressed negative emotions within yourself. Gossip is a form of judgment toward others who may trigger our fears, jealousies, anger, and other deep, unacceptable emotions within us.

You learned to suppress your light and use gossip as a way to connect with others, bond, and create a sense of belonging.

The truth is, the light you were born to shine is your consciousness—it is who you are. Judgment comes from the mind, which operates through duality: us versus them, good versus bad. These are all forms of judgment, and they are deeply karmic, binding you to the very people you hold judgments about.

Discovering Your Essence

In astrology, your essence is represented by your Sun sign. You operate primarily from your Sun until around age five to seven. Then, as you transition toward puberty, you begin operating more from your personality, which in astrology is represented by your Ascendant (ASC).

The Ascendant is the mask you wear—the personality you develop to navigate the world. Over time, you can become so identified with this personality that you believe it is who you truly are.

The Journey Back to Yourself

At some point in life, something begins to stir within you—a longing to return to who you truly are. For many people, this awakening begins in midlife, when you begin the journey back to yourself.

Of course, these are generalities offered simply to help you understand the process we all move through. Each person’s journey is unique, but for many of us, this is the path we traverse in this life.

The Silent Witness

Consciousness, which gives rise to the mind, can help you recognize your true Self. Consciousness can only recognize consciousness. The simplest way to heal the shadow and move beyond self-doubt is through observation—becoming the silent witness.
