One of the biggest things I’ve learned over the past few weeks is this:

For years, I thought every time my stomach got bigger, the answer was to eat less, exercise more, and be harder on myself.
But what if the problem isn’t fat?
What if it’s:

• inflammation
• poor sleep
• digestion
• a nervous system that’s been running on overdrive
The more I pay attention to my body, the more I realize that my body is constantly giving me feedback.
When I’m stressed, my belly changes.
When I don’t sleep, my belly changes.
When my digestion is off, my belly changes.
When I’m overwhelmed, my belly changes.
The goal isn’t to fight the body.
The goal is to learn how to listen.

A few years ago, I thought a “flat stomach” came from punishment, restriction, and constantly trying to fix myself.
What I’m learning now is that the body responds so differently when you start listening to it instead of fighting it.
Less stress.
More awareness.
Better digestion.
More movement.
More softness with yourself.
