Another week, another set of art/class work in the trash.

At first glance your heart may tell you to keep every single item your child has ever touched or created. I would advise you to only save a few special pieces per year and throw away the rest.

Find a place in your home where your kids can empty out their weekly folders and you can sort through it if you need time to decide on what you want to keep.

When my kids come home, we go through everything together, we discuss the areas of improvement and praise for all of the great work. Then everything goes in the trash. That way it never cutters our home.

What do you do with junk mail when it enters your home?

I recommend that you never let it touch a counter. Do you really need to look through that flyer? Are you shopping for credit cards? And please for the love of anything holy, do not take a loan out from one of those mail in loans. I worked in banking for over 7 years. Trust me.

99% of mail nowadays is junk. Throw it in the shredder or the trash and never let it have a space in your home!!

This weekend was a busy one spent at home getting things back in order but because everything was planned out we tackled it so much faster.
Why is it so satisfying to cross off items on a list? Or is that just me? 🤪

What have you purged this weekend??

So this month we are helping momentum members get their 30 minutes of movement via organizing their homes!!
Each week we have challenges.
Week 1 we have everyone cleaning out all paper items in the home. (Think photos, file cabinets, old school stuff, children’s art work)

As promised I said I would be joining the challenge. So far I have already filled these bags. This is only week 1 and I promise I will be getting rid of more stuff.

This should have been harder since I don’t have a lot of stuff as it is. But… I asked myself
1. Do I love it?
2. Do I need it?
3. Do I use it?
If I said no it went in the bags.
Also, my kids picked out a lot of stuff that they wanted to donate as well.

Do you need your office organized?

This client and her husband are both doctors! We made their office work for them instead of the other way around!

We started by removing everything and taking advantage of the wonderful space they already had! Then we only put back items that should be in the office. The desk had amazing storage and so we did not need any product in this room! Buying tons of product to organize is not always the solution. Decluttering and creating “homes” for all of your items is always the most important part of organizing!
