So this cookie comes in every five weeks. We usually do root only touchup, root only touchup, toner, then a highlight or low light, depending on how it’s looking. ⁣

Her hair is more on the fine side so I don’t always want to highlight. Today was one of those days. She was needing more brightness but I just wasn’t feeling like highlights was the route to go. ⁣

INSTEAD I actually did a low light.⁣
⁣
If no one has told you, having depth and dimension (dark) in your hair, actually increases and brightens your blonde. You have to have the dark to make the light really pop!⁣

So today was a root-only touchup, and low lights. By adding more depth, her current highlights really popped, we extended her color at least five more weeks, cut down on bleach damage and reduced her visit ticket! ⁣

There’s never just one way to do your hair. ⁣
⁣
Y’all know I’m a firm believer in a consultation at every visit. It gives you options based on hair health, time, maintenance, and pricing. I may be doing the work, but it’s always a team effort. ☀️☀️☀️⁣

We’ve been going blonder (and blonder) over the last prob 6-7 years and she decided to change it up. I love it and I’m here for it!⁣

Don’t get stuck in your haircolor- or anything for that matter. This brunette is going to be closer to her natural color, easier to maintain, and provide her more grow out time between visits. ⁣

Adding the depth, because you still need that, also added more conditioning to her naturally curly hair! Bonus ✨⁣

☀️☀️ keep in mind when you are going darker, your hair will still try to lighten back up if you had tons of blonde to start with, and your hair color lives at a mid level. Stay on track with your toners, heat protection and just using less heat, and always use pro styling products at home. ⁣

We do a lot of layers in her hair so by her next haircut, she will be rid of most of the blonde she started with. That’s a good thing good!⁣
