Happy Juneteenth Sconnet Babes! On this day, let us remember the sacrifices and struggles of those who fought for freedom and equality. We still have work to do, but today, we celebrate progress and hope for a better future.

That's exactly what we are doing today! This self-care Sunday, our Sconnet is on, bubble bath has been prepped, exfoliation and skin renewal products on deck and soft music is playing in the background.

This past week has been a busy one as we prepared for the launch of our new Sconnets (thank you all for your purchases!). For this very reason, we scheduled some downtime, and we are going to enjoy every minute of it!

I am so honored and excited to have a BOSS Spotlight feature! The BOSS Network has made such a huge impact on my entrepreneurial journey over the past eight months and I am extremely grateful. Not only was I one of their Invest in Progress grant winners (in partnership with Sage) earlier this year, I have been given access to valuable training sessions and resources. I am building a network of entrepreneurial women which is greatly helping me along my journey.

Have you watched "The Hair Tales" on and ?

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two episodes with interviewing and . These episodes reminded me how much our hair journey impacts our overall lives and our definition of beauty. Realizing that many of our beliefs about hair were ingrained in us from familial practices like getting your hair straightened when going to church or someplace nice. The thought that we had to suffer through hot combing sessions, relaxer burns and curler scabs to be cute. Remembering that as a child my hair was too thick to deal with and a relaxer made it more manageable. God if I knew then what I know now!

I'm so excited that we are now in a season where different hair textures and styles are being embraced. Women are creating their own definition of beauty and truly loving every kink and curl that grows out of their beautiful heads. The focus on overall health, including hair health, is making tremendous strides and I am here for it!

Definitely looking forward to the next episode!

OMG...have you seen the relaxer girls/women! I know I wasn't the only one who grew up asking for the hairstyles on the perm box! Whether it was twists in the front going into a sleek ponytail, the cute bang with a nice updo, or just the nice wrap style (not the tight bumped under curls - y'all know what I am talking about) - all of these styles had me walking through the school hallways like I was THAT girl.
