Sometimes growth starts with letting go

That simple step helps protect your style from the humidity and keeps your silk press looking smooth much longer.

Georgia heat has been showing out lately. 🥵 This beautiful client is growing out her relaxer, and with all this new growth plus the humidity, managing her hair was becoming a challenge. Instead of reaching for another relaxer, we chose an amino acid treatment. It helps soften and calm the hair, making it easier to manage in this heat while preserving her natural curl pattern. Less frizz. More control. No compromising the texture she’s working so hard to grow. If you’re transitioning, natural, or just tired of fighting the humidity every morning, this might be the solution you’ve been looking for. Have you ever tried an amino acid treatment, or have you been curious about it? Let me know below. 👇

Everyone talks about protecting their hair. Not enough people talk about protecting their scalp. Whether you’re getting braids this week or just took them out, a head spa helps remove buildup, deeply cleanse the scalp, increase circulation, and create a healthier environment for your hair to thrive. Healthy hair doesn’t start with the style. It starts with the scalp. Have you ever had a professional head spa before?

There was a time when I thought the faster the service, the better. Now I know better. Sometimes the healthiest choice takes a little longer. That’s why we still believe in roller sets, less direct heat, healthier hair, and results that last.

One thing I’ve learned after more than two decades behind the chair… The women who keep their hair healthy the longest are not the ones chasing every new product or trend. They are the ones who pay attention. They notice when their hair starts shedding a little more than usual. When their scalp feels different. When their edges begin to thin. When their hair doesn’t respond the way it used to. Sometimes those changes have nothing to do with the products you’re using. Stress, hormones, nutrition, medications, and your overall health can all show up in your hair before you realize something has changed. That is why your salon visits should be about more than just getting your hair done. They are a chance to check in on the health of your hair and scalp with someone who is paying attention. Healthy hair starts with awareness. What is one change you’ve noticed in your hair over the last few years that you still have not found an answer for? I’d love to hear your story in the comments.

Sometimes, a salon visit is about more than beautiful hair. This client had no idea she was developing a small bald spot until we noticed it during her appointment. As stylists, we’re not just looking at your hairstyle, we should also be paying attention to your scalp. Early changes can sometimes be a sign of stress, inflammation, hormonal shifts, nutritional deficiencies, or other underlying issues. The earlier you notice something, the sooner you can take the right steps and, in many cases, help prevent it from getting worse. That’s why I always encourage clients to have their scalp checked during their appointments. Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Beauty is important. But protecting your hair is even more important.

Maybe it’s just me, but few things feel better than sitting back and letting someone thoroughly cleanse your scalp. Not rushed. Not irritated. Just that clean, refreshed feeling that makes you feel brand new.
