Black Girl Day Off is celebrated every year on October 11.

This special day follows World Mental Health Day, highlighting the significance of mental health, particularly for Black women.
It encourages Black women to take a mental day off to focus on their emotional well-being.

A lady looking for a “stand in stylist” who could give her a quick silk press was referred to me.
Upon arrival she asked me, with $90 being the starting rate, whatever happened to the days of a $35 ?
I told her times have changed, prices are higher because products are higher, rent is higher etc.
she was offended because, her words not mine, “It only takes 1hr to do my hair and I don’t make $90/hr”
I told her to talk to her employer cause if it takes 1hr to do her hair & I’m doing it, I’m making $90/hr😜
Moral of the story: My prices are my prices💛
