Straightening your hair has so many benefits, so much so that I recommend getting them at least once a quarter.

✨Silk presses help to seal and smooth your hair cuticle, allowing for moisture to be locked into your strands.

✨When your hair is straight, you can easily see where your dead ends are and can make the choice to get a proper trim/cut. If you go too long without seeing the potential damage, you risk the split ends traveling further up the hair shaft and losing more length.

✨Often times, when we wear our hair straight, we are less likely to over manipulate our hair or tie it in too tight of ponytails. It's no coincidence that those who straighten their hair more often tend to have better length retention.

I don't even know where to start. I am so freaking pleased with the outcome of her hair I have to admit pleasantly surprised!

Back in December of 2019 we did a color transformation (last picture) that was pretty but definitely warm. It was also very high maintenance considering her new growth was so much darker than the color.

This time around I wanted to make it cooler with a darker base for easier grow out. I had to balayage her ends the toned and shadow rooted using all color products.

Swipe to see how beautiful her color is from different angles 🥰

Also super shout out to for trusting me throughout this entire process. She started getting her hair braided by me years ago and has stuck with me through it all!

Continuing my week of color!

A few months ago Karen came to me with very bright and golden hair. As her color faded it started to expose more of the underlying warmth, aka orange 🙃. This visit we lightened her hair again using balayage techniques and blended it all together with a shadow root and some melted lowlights.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's color reveal 🤗🤗

These week I'm going to show some extra love to my color creations from this year so far! I normally do blondes but coppers are fun too!

She originally had blonde ombré/balayage that had grown out which was a perfect starting point for this copper. We used demi colors on her ends and permanent on her roots to give it a great warm blend. I recommend that if you don't want to use bleach to start considering red and copper tones to get introduced to safe hair color creations.

I don't think this picture needs a caption, her curls say it all

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this color thing...

A little over a week ago Alexis trusted me to give her a total hair makeover. We changed her base to a nice brown and added some honey and caramel highlights. I also want to give her a huge shoutout for her amazing patience as I am suuuper slow and it took all day 😅😅

Let's meet in my dms and discuss your next color makeover!

A few weeks ago my lovely client Leah gave me an opportunity to do her deva cut for her birthday! She and I both agreed that we loved the shape, but I have to honest, it didn't go as planned...

✨I failed to do a proper consultation, if I had we probably would've elected for a blow dry cut versus a traditional curly cut

✨Leah seldom wore her hair in wash n go's, mostly braid outs and twist outs. She was looking for shape to accentuate the styles. Not necessarily a traditional devacut, but that is how she best knew how to describe it

✨I am learning how to discern between clients wanting to add shape overall versus ones that not only want shape, but want it achieved with no heat. However, the no heat option is if you wear your hair naturally curly 99% of the time.

Moral of the story, she came back 3 weeks later and we blew her out, gave her an accurate cut and shape and styled her in a braid out. This was a learning moment for me. One that I must share so when you see the pictures I post, we both know what it took to get there and how far I have left to go!

Today one of my long time braid clients trusted me to do her color correction. She had blonde in the midshaft and brown on her ends. I'm not even gonna lie and act like I wasn't a little nervous 😅😅

We had to do multiple steps to try to even out her pallet and I must say it turned out pretty well! In a few weeks we are going to go even lighter for a lighter, creamier blonde!

If you have been interested in trying color, dm me! We can talk about different ways we can enhance your hair color in a way that suits your style and your hair goals.
