💚 Microcomedones are common and often form beneath the surface before you see any visible breakouts, but they can be treated.
Here are a few common reasons why:
1. Buildup of dead skin + oil. When your skin isn’t shedding properly, dead skin cells mix with oil and clog the pore
2. Pore-clogging products. Certain ingredients in skincare or makeup can create congestion under the surface
3. Disrupted skin barrier. Over-exfoliating or using harsh products can throw off your skin and lead to buildup
