• Washing your lashes is an EXTREMELY important job for you as a lash wearer. Our skin secretes oils that ends up on our lashes, makeup gets caked on the extensions, and daily dirt/debris can really pile up on the extensions. All of these factors will weigh down the extensions and eat away at the adhesive leading to several issues.

• Washing your lashes will help prevent:
🌿 Premature fallout, making your set last longer
🌿 Potential eye infections and allergic reactions
🌿 Infestations of eyelash mites (Demodex Folliculorum)

• Lash Extensions are a two-man job. Your lash artist’s job is to safely provide you with a clean, styled set. Your job is to clean your lashes once daily (or twice if you have oily skin) •

✨That winter weather is here✨ which means it’s time to kick your skincare into high gear!

Here are some tips to help your skin survive the colder, drier months!

❄️ Avoid harsh cleansers. These are going to strip your skin of natural oils and natural moisturizing factors leaving you more susceptible to dry, flaky, inflamed skin.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❄️ Avoid hot showers and cranking your heater too high. These high external temperatures will severely dehydrate and dry out your skin (more on this topic in tomorrow’s post).

❄️ Use richer moisturizers with ceramides. These products will help replenish your barrier functions which works to protect your skin from external stress and retain moisture.

❄️ Continue to apply and reapply your SPF! Even if it’s cloudy and cold out, those harmful rays are still able to pe*****te the clouds and cause skin damage.

❄️ Hydrate! Put down the hot cocoa and pick up some water. If you feel thirsty and dehydrated, then your skin does too.

🌿There are so many myths about pore size and shrinking larger pores. Well first things first... I’m sorry to break it to ya but you cannot shrink pores. Nope not even with that magic “pore eraser” your fave influencer just posted about.

🌿The truth is pore size is typically genetic and cannot be changed. ✨HOWEVER✨ there are things we can do to minimize their ~appearance~!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌿To minimize APPEARANCE of pores:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Always wear & reapply your SPF! Sun damage will take a toll on your collagen and elastin production leading to sagging, stretchy pores that appear larger.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Keep your pores clear of dirt & congestion (which will enhance large pore appearances) with daily skincare TLC and regular facial treatments.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Implement a retinoid into your regimen to promote cell turnover and collagen production in the dermis.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Microneedling treatments will create controlled micro-traumas in the skin which stimulates incredible levels of collagen & elastin production (this is also awesome for wrinkles!)
