We all start somewhere. I’ve been an athlete my whole life, but nothing has changed my body quite like picking up weights. Better metabolism. Better mental health. Aging like fine wine instead of expired milk. Yeah, I’m addicted and I’m not sorry about it.
Getting older hard? Respectfully, that’s a lie. I’ve never been more proud of this body: gains, curves, and all. As a millennial who was sold the gospel that skinny = healthy, watching myself get stronger instead of smaller is genuinely the plot twist I needed. The glow-up was always in progress. It just took time to catch up. Older, wiser, and built different. Literally.
I train for the older version of myself.
Not for a number on the scale. Not for how I look in a photo. For the woman I’m going to be at 60, 70, 80 and whether she can still move, lift, and show up the way she wants to.
Getting stronger with age isn’t a given. It’s a choice you make now, in the reps that feel hard and the sessions you don’t want to start. It’s the investment with the longest return timeline and the best payoff.
I’m not racing anyone. I’m just building something that lasts.
Every set is a deposit. Future Sabrina is going to be so glad we showed up.

Low muscle strength is associated with an elevated risk of all-cause mortality. Additionally, low muscle mass and cognitive function impairment are directly correlated as well. TLDR: implement strength training.
