Welcome to fall weather in Texas! Cooler temperatures are a welcome relief after a very hot August.
I just returned from my annual trip to Burning Man in Nevada. Such an amazing event. 14 years in a row. 😁 Trying to get back into my normal routine.
I recently took a training class in Lomi Lomi massage technique and I’m ready to begin mixing it in with my other modalities. If you would like to try it out, let me know. Lomi is the native Hawaiian massage style and is somewhat similar to the Esalen work that I already do. Both styles are full body relaxation massage and both use pretty minimal draping.

2023 is almost history. Here’s wishing for a healthy and adventurous 2024 to one and all!
I’ll be closed until Jan 8th for family gatherings, but I’ve added a couple of new items for the new year.
I can now add cupping to your session on request; no extra charge.
And I’ve added a 30 minute session for youth under age 17 that want to give massage a tryout. A parent must accompany them for the session.

Just an FYI, we will be closed until September 11th for vacation and my annual trek to Burning Man near Reno. The weather should be cooler by the time we reopen. Have a wonderful summer!

My favorite style of massage is Esalen. It was developed in the early 1960’s at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur California. More than just a style of massage, it was a feeling and belief in the goodness of mankind; with a lot of ties to the hippie movement.
I just ran across this video of a concert weekend at Esalen recorded in 1969. It’s like a mini Woodstock with glimpses of the grounds and facilities of Esalen.
Everyone in this film is at least 70 years old now. I hope they are still full of love and energy. These were my teenage years. ❤️
My first exposure to massage was in 1976 when I moved to Austin and took a massage class from someone that had studied at Esalen. The hot tub and the outdoor massages that I offer are inspired by Esalen.

Spring weather has finally arrived, along with the promise of relief from Covid-19. I’ve received my first shot and will have my second dose next week. Masks are still required here, but I think that may go away by mid-summer.
I’m taking limited appointments still. Only one per day, but it can be a couples session if you want to bring a friend along. Hot tub, fruit tray, glass of wine, and a wonderful, relaxing outdoor massage. It’s s great way to celebrate the arrival of spring.
