The CEO of cosmetics retailer Lush says he's 'happy to lose' $13 million by deleting Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat accounts over teen mental-health harms Cosmetics company Lush made waves by permanently shutting down its accounts on many of the biggest social media accounts on Black Friday.

I remember looking at magazines and thinking the women in them were so perfect, it caused huge self esteem issues for myself… When really those women were just as imperfect as myself, but with hired photo editors. Now we don’t read magazines, we just scroll daily at every photo filtered! Do pores even exist anymore?

Many of us don’t leave the house much these days and If all we see are filtered faces it really can make us dislike what we see in the mirror.

I try to NEVER use filters on my photos, because YES! I have blemishes and wrinkles! We all do and that’s ok!
All generations of women need to know that it’s ok to see pores, lines and zits, because all women have those, and having imperfections doesn’t make you any less beautiful!
Has filters made you feel insecure?

For these reasons I’m creating a campaign! BOYCOTT THE FILTER!

Mine is all my years of sun tanning, beach going and paddling without proper spf coming back to haunt me in the form of dark sun spots (hyperpigmentation)! ☀️ 👻

With that being said, I’m still afraid. I’ve done this many times, it just feels different this time. I know the universe has magic things in store for me next.
