It’s been a while since I’ve posted a color correction, but I get a lot of clients that have dark hair color or box color that are wanting to go back light so I’m documenting this process as a reference that I can come back to.

This is the reality of removing dark hair color from previously highlighted hair.

We highlighted her a few weeks ago and got a decent amount of the dark out, however her ends were very fragile and she expressed to me she didn’t want to lose length and wanted to keep her hair healthy so she was okay with doing this process slower if we had to. Today when she came in, I was able to use a high-lift instead of bleach and then toned her back down which kept the damage to very minimal while still having another session of lightening the hair. Realistically you are going to have SOME amount of warmth when getting dark hair color out of the hair. But for her 2nd session with me I’d say it went pretty well! Her goal is not to be super blonde but more of a light brown so she has a few more sessions to go. But my goal is to always make sure the in between is wearable.
