Today I had written & planned a beautiful post about relaxation, nurturing your skin & wellbeing for Mother’s Day. Obviously, this isn’t it 😂 BUT, this IS the reason I work so hard to hold a space for each & every one of YOU in my treatment room ❤️

As I reorganize & reflect back on my 20 year anniversary as an esthetician & business owner, I came across this gem. At the time my daughter drew this picture for me … I was 39, my son was 12 & my daughter was 8 ❤️ here’s what those pictures don’t show:

✨My one year anniversary party was also a surprise 40th birthday casino party for 50 people at my spa for my ex husband
✨that week, I was diagnosed with Valley Fever
✨that same week, our Beagle Mary became a first time mom & had 6 of the sweetest puppies. She was scared & I had to hold her in my lap at each feeding
✨My ex husband said “you’ve got this” & left the next week to race the Baja 1000 on his motorcycle, leaving me to handle the house, kids & both of our businesses

And the reality was, somehow I did “have this” (& still do) ❤️

Today our family looks a little different - my husband & I have 4 kids together & will have 6 grandkids under 6 by this fall, lol! We are both self employed at our own businesses. Life these days is:

✨Waiting patiently for my sweet grandson Henry to arrive any day
✨Navigating a lifelong “invisible illness” diagnosis for the past 3 years
✨Busy with treatments for beautiful people & researching/formulating a new skincare product collection
✨Supporting our kids (& grandkids) thru the crazy, because I know how it is!! Sleepovers, school pickups & soccer games …

All this to say, I see YOU … Whether you are a mom, a business owner, a business leader or a community leader or maybe all of the above…. I know how crazy, busy & rewarding this life can be ❤️ I’m right there beside, cheering you on - we’ve got this!

19 years ago I became a licensed esthetician in May - I had been working as an office manager for a CPA & although I loved my work … there was no changing that tax deadlines & baseball season happened at the same time every year! So grateful to have made that change & be where I am at today … life & my esthetician world has changed dramatically thru the years. The one thing that has remained the same is my love for what I do here in my treatment room ❤️

This first picture was taken of my kids just a few months before I started esthetics school & the second picture was taken of my grandkids just a few months ago. I share these pictures because I am fortunate to enjoy a life away from my treatment room that is filled with family, friends & the busyness of a life well lived … believe me, I know how it is to be juggling a career, kids, community & trying to find time for you ❤️ I see you navigating the craziness of this world & I love being your “safe space”, providing you with an hour (or two) of self care & beautiful skin!

Took a few minutes before heading to my studio this week to reflect & plan on the future for my skincare business downtown - it’s always a bit melancholy for me as I visit that location, my skincare spa Evolution Esthetics that I built from the ground up was located just across the street years ago …I can’t believe 15 years later, I’m taking all those lessons learned (& some of those amazing clients too) to my beautiful luxurious & exclusive studio location ❤️

So many changes over the past 19 years for me as a licensed esthetician ( the industry treatment of choice is NOT a microderm with glycolic peel - that was soo 2006, lol!) & yet so many things remain exactly the same here in my private studio…
