Dottie Hefner passed away yesterday morning surrounded by family. Dottie was tiny in stature yet an unbelievably big presence at Rosewood. Dottie loved magic tricks, dumb blonde jokes and adored her dogs. She revered her family and was very proud of her daughters in the reserved way of her generation. She served her country in the military during WW2.

Dottie turned 100 last year and until very recently would walk unaided to our salon.

Our hearts are sad but personally I will always remember her determination and grace.

Knowing Dottie Hefner has been one of the highlights of my time at Rosewood.

Hello Everyone. I would love to add another part time hairdresser to Bloom's staff. I'm posting here in case anyone might know of someone who would be interested.

I'm seeking a seasoned stylist who does perms and sets. This is a must. It would be great to welcome someone who already has some clients. Our shop is a booth rental situation.

This is a great place for someone who would enjoy a small shop in a high end retirement community set on beautiful grounds.

Please call 325-7711. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday but by all means leave a message on our phone if we are gone.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago our manicurist Holly fell and broke both wrists.
Tuesday the lovey stylist Connie Castro was feeling envious of the attention Holly was getting so she fell while on a walk and broke her right arm. And has a lovely shiner to boot. Needless to say we are scrambling to keep up. Please be patient with us and we'll get to you.

Just to shake things up a bit here at Bloom Salon I created a new music station on Pandora. I typed in The Average White Band and it has been so much fun all day. Lots and lots of hip wagging

When my darling manicurist Holly does something, she does it in a big big way. She has fallen and broken both of her wrists. You will probably be getting a phone call from her in the next few days updating her status with you. Holly we love you and want you to get better really soon

My view at work today

We miss being at work and although we have no idea when we'll be allowed to come back Bloom Salon can't wait to see you all.

How many thousands of haircuts, how many hair colors, perms, laughter and heartbreak have these Bloom Salon stations seen? After several decades of service these stations will be retired and new stations installed. As Richard Knight says "A new broom sweeps clean."
