I cleaned out my closet today.
Not because I suddenly became organized.
Because I finally admitted to myself that I’ve been holding onto clothes for a version of me that no longer exists.
This piece is about weight gain, identity, grief, aging, and the quiet ways we postpone loving ourselves in the present while waiting to become someone else again.
Honestly, it’s one of the most vulnerable things I’ve written in a while.
“The Clothes Don’t Fit ME Anymore” is live on Substack.

One of the most common phrases I hear pregnant women say is:
“My doctor won’t allow me…”
And every time I hear it, I pause.
Not because medical recommendations are bad.
Not because providers are the enemy.
But because that phrase often stops the conversation before the real conversation ever begins.
What if birth conversations included more curiosity, more context, and more informed choice?
My newest piece in *The Language of Birth* series explores the hidden power inside the words we use around pregnancy, risk, and decision-making.
Including:
• Why language matters
• How “permission” language shapes birth experiences
• Questions every pregnant woman deserves to ask
• And why informed consent is more than compliance

For many wellness professionals, the actual appointment is only part of the job.
There’s also:
Driving.
Carrying equipment.
Loading and unloading your car.
Setting up.
Breaking down.
Laundry.
Managing traffic between clients.
Trying to stay present while already physically exhausted.
At first, mobile work or seeing clients in their homes can be a great way to start building.
But at some point, the convenience starts costing more than you realize.
Not just financially.
Energetically.
You shouldn’t have to carry a massage table up three flights of stairs before your workday even begins.

Pay attention to your posture throughout the day, especially if you sit for long periods. Small adjustments in alignment can help your massage results last longer between appointments.

A sudden forward and backward motion of the neck, often from car accidents or impact injuries, can result in whiplash. This soft tissue strain affects muscles and ligaments, leading to stiffness, headaches, and restricted movement. Therapeutic massage can reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and help restore normal range of motion.

Discomfort in the jaw joint, commonly known as TMJ pain, can lead to headaches and facial tension. Manual therapy targeting the jaw, neck, and shoulders helps reduce tightness and inflammation. Treatment may improve alignment and restore comfortable chewing and speaking.

Incorporate gentle stretching in the evenings to support the work done during your session. Maintaining mobility helps prevent muscles from tightening back up too quickly.
