According to studies, research shows that 63% of the African American community believes having a mental health condition is a sign of weakness. Each day more people are becoming aware of their mental health but have no idea how many of us are actually suffering in silence. As a minority, we have higher risk factors for mental illnesses simply due to things like; racial trauma abuse, fewer opportunities, living in unsafe environments, and even racial violence such as assault and police brutality plays a role. It’s time to break the stigma and generational curses and be the best version of ourselves for the legacy we leave behind🙏🏽✨
