. Hey y'all-- thanks for visiting my page!! Please like me and if you really like me leave me a review! I am a stylist at Island Sun in Bastrop, Texas.

There isn't anything that I don't LOVE doing. I can fade your husband, hide your wife's roots and entertain your children. I have ten years of experience and I love my chosen field more and more each day. I'm that crazy lady with the dream to make the world more beautiful one person at a time and I would love to make that happen with you in my chair.

Alrighty this is going to be a long post and if you don’t want to read it just keep scrolling and like the cute kid picture:

Short version: I am planning on getting back into the salon either the 19th or the 20th. The following will include my reasoning, making future appointments, and protocols for when I do return. If you plan on getting your hair done by me, please continue reading.

I haven’t been able to work since March 25th. Not only do I NEED to get back to work financially, I really WANT to see and reminisce with all of my wonderful, beautiful clients...BUT, I personally think the decision to push forward salon openings was extremely premature and honestly irresponsible. They had us in phase two for a reason, that reason being we cannot socially distance. We cannot do our jobs from six feet away. When I am doing your hair not only am I touching you, my face is a foot or less from your face. The only people closer to you than me (that are currently open) are your nurses, doctors & dentists—and THEY have the appropriate PPE. My quickest client is 30 minutes but my average client is a 3 hour color service. That’s 3 hours of being a foot away from your face.. Basically everyone in my life is high risk and it’s just not worth it. I will lose some clients over this and that breaks my heart but again, not worth it. You can tell me to stop living in fear, that it’s not even a big deal & all that jazz, but I didn’t tell you how to live your life so please show me the same respect. I am going to take this time to prepare, try to find all the things I need to keep us all safe during services & honestly just see what happens to the rest of y’all. Next, guys, y’all know. My kid is nuts. We do our homeschool for 3-4 hours a day and then it’s followed by a bunch of non stop crazy. I am going to need time to figure out when I will be able to work. I will have less days during my work week & less clients scheduled on each day...people are going to get upset and so just let me apologize already. I will do the best I can every day, be patient with me. Finally, over the next two weeks I have Mother’s Day and a birthday and I have to get through both of those days not having my mom anymore and it just makes the decision to stay home even easier. I can tell you the anxiety and the pressure I feel is constant and I would not make it if I was stressing out about opening up with two days notice. So! You have made it this far, let’s move on to some other important stuff!

Rescheduling: first I will get with everyone that I had to cancel, followed by the ever growing list of clients that have reached out over the past month. I will try to get to everyone in a fair & timely manner. More than likely I am looking at doing 1 color service & 1 maybe 2 haircuts a day. Since 90% of my clientele are highlights, this will push some of you back even further. It will be very overwhelming getting back to you all so pllleaaaaseeee just be patient with me.

Most important new protocols:
-only one client at a time, I can’t double book you and your friend/mom/ect.
-you and I will both wear masks at all times in the salon
-I have always and will especially now leave plenty of time between clients to properly disinfect literally everything
-there are more things that will be specific to the service you are receiving and I will discuss those at the time of booking
-at this time I will not be offering any of my waxing services or beard/mustache trims—sorry!!

Thank you to all of my kind, supportive and understanding clients who I have spoken to today! I will start reaching out and scheduling tomorrow, if I don’t get to you—I WILL, it is just a very long list. Feel free to reach out to me at anytime to make sure you are on that list and you haven’t been missed. If you felt crazy reading all that, I felt crazy writing all of it but...crazy times. Thank you, I love each of y’all & hopefully I’ll see you soon!
