Everyone says wait a year. So here it's been, a year

I haven't really known what to do with this page. There's a part of me that it makes me really sad, but another part of me that loves looking at all the memories.

For the past year I've been working at a beautiful studio with my friend Robbin. We worked together when I first started doing hair. God put her in my life, no doubt, and its been a great thing to have she and Anna over this past year, and my clients love them too ❤ I guess they say wait a year because you gotta work thru all the uck and have a clear mind about big decisions. I have thought so many times I'd just be reopening only to have been shut down by a pandemic. I realized pretty early on that my quality of life was much easier, but it was my sense of pride that was hanging on. I loved Avery McKay. I loved being a part of this community for so long. But its time to close that chapter and simplify my life. I'll continue to be at the studio and you can always DM me here. It's been a ride ❤

Can't brag enough on these two right here. Strong, get s**t done, caring, selfless, professional, loving, kind, godly, empathetic, understanding.... the list goes on. So good seeing them tonight and holding what is dear to all of us; eachother. The circumstances are s**tty, but we still have eachother!

Sarah Denny and Diana Moncure are up and running now!! They are located at 108 Industrial Drive here in Bastrop. Its upstairs in the Coldwell Banker building located at the entrance of Tahitian Village. We are still all having to use our cell phones and we don't wish to list that on a public forum, so please use our online booking, email myself on our Avery McKay website, or instant message us here. Please be patient as we settle in to this new life and way of working. Its going to be a process!

So ready to see everybody and excited to be back at work!

Today after 11 years I start a new chapter. A new place with new things.... and yes I'm so thankful for all of that. But I'm also so mad, so sad, and so scared. I want my old things back. I want to look up and see Bryce and Laynes pictures everywhere, I want to see my christmas cactus that Peggy Colbert brought me years ago, I want to see our wedding pictures and my awesome plaque that Deborah bought me that says I'm kinda a big deal. I want the things in my hand that feel familiar, not new and awkward, a reminder of what is gone. As much as Avery McKay exhausted me, it was my pride and joy. So much so that I named it after my two girls. Thank you all for your support and prayers. It really means so very much. On to new things....

Unfortunately we haven't been able to find a location for all of us to work temporarily. So it looks like over the next months we will be working from different locations. Sarah, Diana and Loren are finalizing up spots and I will keep everyone posted, and they will be reaching out to you as well. Kiley has found a spot and will start Monday July 29th. You should all have received emails, but if you haven't, you can private message me here and I'll give you the address and phone number. Also if you have questions regarding Sarah, Diana and Loren, you can also message me here and I'll be happy to help. Thank you all for being patient and understanding while we work all this out! We will get through this!

Today is a new day

I guess since it's out there on Facebook I need to let everyone know. I can't fully wrap my head around losing everything that I worked so hard for. I'm still in shock and just now home from the early morning. I need to grieve today, and tomorrow starts a new day of being strong. For those of you who don't know, Avery McKay caught fire in the early morning. It's a total loss. But I have great insurance and I don't want our clients to worry. Tomorrow we will be working on a temporary spot for us. So please don't leave us. Thank you all for your texts and calls this morning. I'm sorry I haven't responded.
