I want to share a little vulnerability with my story. 🤍

When I graduated high school, I went to college for business because even then, my dream was to eventually open my own salon.

But I realized pretty quickly that I didn’t want to learn the business before I ever learned the craft. I still wanted to do hair.

So I made the tough decision to leave college and enroll in cosmetology school.

Some of my family thought it was exactly what I should do. Others didn’t understand the decision quite as much. And looking back, I get it. Leaving college probably didn’t look like the safest or smartest choice on paper.

But I knew.

I knew I wanted a career where I could create, connect with people, build something of my own, and never stop learning.

More than 15 years later, I’m still behind the chair. Still taking classes. Still pushing myself. Still building my business. And still dreaming about what’s next.

The path definitely hasn’t been a straight one. I’ve worked in different cities, taken chances, started over, changed directions, and learned a whole lot along the way.

Turns out, leaving college didn’t mean I was giving up on my dream.

I was just choosing a different way to get there. ✨

And every single person who has ever sat in my chair has helped me build the life that 20-year-old me was brave enough to go after.

I came home from Fort Lauderdale feeling different. 🤍

This year I finally got to experience the Behind the Chair Show, and I don’t think I realized just how much I needed it until I was there.

I had the opportunity to learn from some of the most incredible artists in our industry, including Chris Appleton, Eric Michael Coyle and Larisa Love — and to be surrounded by so much talent, creativity and education was honestly unreal.

I went expecting to learn new techniques and come home with fresh inspiration. I did that… but I came home with so much more.

It reminded me why I fell in love with doing hair in the first place.

After all these years behind the chair, it’s easy to get comfortable. This trip lit a fire under me again. I came home excited to create, excited to push myself, excited to keep learning and honestly just ready to do some dang good hair.

I have so many ideas running through my head right now for Hair by Hope and for what I want to create behind the chair.

Fort Lauderdale, you were good to me. 🤍

✨ Sometimes life has a way of leading you right back home.

After spending the last 8 years building my career in Baton Rouge, I knew it was time to follow where my heart was leading me.

What started at Regency Beauty Institute in Shreveport grew into an incredible journey. I had the privilege of working at Rigsby Frederick, later opening my own salon suite, purchasing my own building, and building a clientele that became so much more than clients—they became family.

While Baton Rouge helped shape my career, home never stopped calling.

Growing up in Rocky Branch, just outside of West Monroe, I always knew this community would hold a special place in my heart. For the past eight years, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside the amazing women at Delta Salon whenever I came home, and with every visit, I felt more certain that this was where I was meant to be.

Now, I’m incredibly excited to make that permanent.

To every client who has trusted me, supported my dreams, and sat in my chair over the years—thank you. Your loyalty has allowed me to build a career I truly love, and I’ll always be grateful for the relationships we’ve created together.

And to my hometown, I’m so excited to serve this community full-time and continue creating beautiful, confidence-boosting hair alongside the talented women at Delta Salon.

I can’t wait to welcome both familiar and new faces into my chair. 🤍
