I wrote this "poem" about the personal care industry during Covid shutdown. I wanted the people in charge to know and understand what we all do in the personal care industry. I have had several requests to share it.
Here it is...
I am a licensed Barber, Cosmetologist and Tattoo artist... I am more than that

I am an artist who can take a moving canvas add color into a piece of art that flatters the wearer physically and mentally... I am more than that

I am an engineer who understands angles, corners, the horizon, the flow of air and movement, who cuts shape into thousands of moving parts that flatter the wearer physically and mentally.... I am more than that

I am a chemist who understands how to mix and blend chemicals together to color skin and hair, smooth, straighten, lighten and temporary change the shape of a fluid object (hair)... I am more than that

I am a hazard materials specialist who understands the clean-up and disposal of hazardous. I understand how to put out a chemical fire if necessary...I am more than that

I am a sanitation specialists who understands how to safely remove chemicals from the hair and skin... I am more than that

I am a bacterial, viral, infectious disease control person, who is trained in proper sanitation to keep from spreading such diseases... I am more than that

I am a counselor, coach, teacher, social worker, politician, lawyer, personal trainer, family friend, surrogate parent/grandparent.... I am more than that

I am a sales person who understands their products and how they work and can make personal recommendations to others... I am more than that

I am a retail clerk, appointment scheduler, admistrative assistant... I am more than that

I am a manager, employee coach, schedule writer, trainer.... I am more than that

I am a wife, mom, bicyclist, crafter, an artist, dog mom, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother...I am more than that I am me.

The gift of the giver is the joy that a person receives from giving to another person. Yesterday Nicole Wilkinson🪻 and I had the pleasure of sharing how to take care of your wig and yourself while going thru Cancer treatment. Cancer services of Baton Rouge and Mary Bird Perkins hosted the event. Nicole and I received such joy from sharing our knowledge with the ladies. Thank you for that joy. iuveni donated Lipid Layer Quencher to all the participants to use on their hair or a human hair wig. The ladies were amazed at how the wigs felt once the LLQ repaired the hair. We look forward to having another event in the future.

Perming wigs, extensions and hair toppers use to be extremely difficult. The results varied greatly from wow it worked to oh no, I have to start all over again. We also could not perm and color in the same day any wig, extensions or hair toppers. Thanks iuveni we now can offer this service without fear.
